Overview
The Hortus Malabaricus Botanical Garden is a plant conservation project initiated in 2015 by the SciGenom Research Foundation – a non-profit Trust, founded by Sam Santhosh in 2015.
The Garden Evangelist should be a passionate leader and Nature lover who can be strategic face of Hortus Malabaricus Botanical Garden —a 27-acre living repository that celebrates Kerala’s rich botanical heritage and the legacy of the 17th-century magnum opus ‘Hortus Malabaricus’. This role is critical in developing and executing multifaceted communications and marketing strategy, aimed at elevating the garden’s profile locally, nationally, and internationally. The ideal candidate will combine a passion for nature and history with modern digital marketing expertise to inspire diverse audiences, foster community partnerships, and drive sustainable growth in visitor engagement
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager with an MBA and at least 10 years of experience after MBA. This role involves the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Communications
Develop and maintain a unified brand narrative linking historical heritage with modern conservation.
Identify key audience segments (families, eco-tourists, academics, etc.) and tailor messaging accordingly.
Produce engaging content (blogs, newsletters, social media posts) that highlights our unique offerings.
Digital & Social Media
Manage and grow our social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) through dynamic campaigns.
Oversee website content and digital marketing efforts including SEO, email campaigns, and online advertising.
Analyze digital metrics to continuously optimize engagement and outreach.
Public Relations & Outreach
Serve as the primary spokesperson, craft press releases and media kits.
Represent the garden at exhibitions, trade shows, and community events.
Develop crisis communication strategies to protect the garden’s reputation.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
Coordinate volunteer programs and fundraising initiatives that promote local involvement
Build partnerships with educational institutions, tour operators, and cultural organizations.
Secure inclusion in state and national tour listings to broaden our reach.
Performance & Reporting
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across marketing and outreach initiatives.
Prepare regular reports and adjust strategies based on data-driven insights.
Qualifications
MBA in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, from a reputed Institution
Proven experience in strategic marketing and communications, ideally within tourism, cultural heritage, or horticulture sectors.
Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Malayalam is a plus.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media management, and analytics software.
Passion for nature, cultural heritage, and community engagement.
